Towels with character
Travel towels are a product associated with summer, water, beach, water sports and nature. For us, travel towels symbolise an active lifestyle (swimming, windsurfing, kitesurfing, camping, surfing, and other activities) with a lot of dynamics and some unpredictability. A towel is part of the must-have equipment for all those who are familiar with this kind of lifestyle.
We are too and therefore the question “Did you bring a towel?” is a common one.
After more than ten years of intensive travel and experience with different travel towels, we decided to design our own. One that suits most users’ needs and at the same time reflects the character, energy and freedom of active people and fellow wanderlust souls with vibrant designs.
We also want to do something good for our beloved planet, which we are destroying far too much. That's why products under the Nommos brand will be produced using recycled plastics and other environmentally friendly materials.
What's in a name?
The Nommo(s) are the primal beings and the first ancestors of the Dogon people of Africa. They are depicted as amphibious creatures, with the body of a man and the fin of a fish. They lived both on land and in the water.
All of us, beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts, have a split character of amphibious creatures because we need a connection to both water and land. It is from this context that we drew the inspiration for the brand name.
How many plastic bottles have we managed to recycle so far and how much plastic waste have we kept out of the oceans and landfills?
